A
60-foot granite monument dedicated in 1932, is perched
atop 90-foot tall Kill Devil Hill commemorating the achievement
of these two visionaries from Dayton, Ohio. A visit should
include touring the museum exhibits, participating in
a ranger conducted program, touring the reconstructed
camp buildings and first flight trail area, and a climb
up Kill Devil Hill to view the memorial pylon. Wright

North Carolina Aquariums are a division of the North Carolina
Department of Environment and Natural Resources. The Aquariums
are accredited by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association.
Last year, the North

Currituck Beach Lighthouse and Museum Shop are open
daily from Easter through Thanksgiving (closed Thanksgiving
Day). During periods of high winds or thunderstorms the
lighthouse tower may be closed to climbers. Winter months
provide time for restoration and maintenance. Telephone

Jockey's
Ridge is the tallest natural sand dune system in the Eastern
United States. Located in Nags Head, it is one of the
most significant landmarks on the Outer Banks.
Jockey's
Ridge State Park is located in Dare County on the
Outer Banks. The entrance to the park, Carolista Drive,
is in the town of Nags Head at milepost 12 on the Hwy
